Whole Grains Cookies

Wholesome grains are the key ingredient in these biscuit. The use of unrefined flours gives dogs a step up in nutrition while the flavour has them begging for more. These biscuits are a great basic cookie to have on hand.

Pumpkin Cookies
This grain based treat is made with blackstrap molasses, which assist in developing healthy and shiny coats. Pumpkin is high in potassium, vitamin C and zinc, which is an immune booster.

3 cups Whole-wheat flour
1 cup Oatmeal
1/2 cup Wheat germ
2 cups Pumpkin (puree)
1/4 cup Molasses (blackstrap)
1/2 cup Water

1. Place flours, oatmeal and wheat germ in mixing bowl.
2. Add pumpkin, molasses and water. Mix is well for 3 to 5 minutes.
3. Place on floured counter and roll out, about 1/2 inch/ 1 cm thick. Cut out shapes with desired cookie cutter.
4. Bake at Gas 4 for 30 minutes, or until cookies are crisp.


Cheesy Oat Cookies
A perfect cookie full of oatmeal and flavours dogs can't resist. The Parmesan is a great source of calcium, which is good for strong bones, skin and teeth as well healthy heart function.

1 1/2 cups Beef Stock
1/2 cup Powdered milk
1 cup Oatmeal
1/2 cup Parmesan Cheese
2 tbsp Vegetable Oil
2 cups Whole-wheat flour

1. Pour beef stock over oatmeal and leave it for 5 minutes.
2. Stir in powdered milk and add parmesan cheese and also oil.
3. Add flour and knead 3 to 4 minutes.
4. Place on floured counter and roll out, about 1/2 inch/ 1 cm thick. Cut out shapes with desired cookie cutter.
5. Bake at Gas 4 for 30 minutes, or until cookies are crisp.


Minty Treats
A whole-grain cookie with mint to aid digestion and blackstrap molasses for healthy coat. The fresh mint gives fresh breath, stimulates the digestive juices and can relieve colic.

4 cups Whole-wheat flour
3/4 Fresh Mint
4 tbsp Vegetable Oil
4 tbsp Molasses
1/2 cup Water

1. Blend wheat flour and chopped mint.
2. Add remaining ingredient and mix well to blend.
3. Place on floured counter and roll out, about 1/2 inch/ 1 cm thick. Cut out shapes with desired cookie cutter.
4. Bake at Gas 4 for 30 minutes, or until cookies are crisp.
