High Energy Cookies

These cookies make great treats for your energetic dog. Give one for a quick energy boost or pack a few for an afternoon hiking trip. The special flours and added meat increase the protein, which gives the added boost.

Parmesan Chips
The Parmesan and chicken flavour will give a boost to the hard working dog. The cornmeal ensure slow-release energy that maintains stable blood glucose levels after eating.

6 oz Parmesan cheese
3/4 cup Fresh Parsley
1 cup Cornmeal
1/2 cup Chicken stock

1. Blend all ingredient together
2. Place on floured counter and roll out, about 1/2 inch/ 1 cm thick. Cut out shapes with desired cookie cutter.
3. Bake at Gas 5 for 10 minutes, or until cookies are crisp.


Ginger Spiced Treats
An adaption of the ginger cookies, these crunchy treats are spiced with fresh ginger and unrefined molasses sugar. Ginger aids digestion and stimulates the circulation.

2 tbsp Gonger
4 cups Whole-wheat flour
2 tbsp Cinnamon
1/2 cup Water
1/2 cup Molasses

1. Blend ginger, flour and cinnamon.
2. Add water and molasses to flour mixture to form a stiff dough.
3. Place on floured counter and roll out, about 1/2 inch/ 1 cm thick. Cut out shapes with desired cookie cutter.
4. Bake at Gas 4 for 25 - 30 minutes, or until cookies are crisp.


Sunflower Power Cookies
High in carbohydrates and protein, these tasty treats are good for times when a boost is needed. This sunflower meal is mineral rich including zinc, which helps to keep skin healthy.

1 cup Oat bran flour
1/2 cup Whole-wheat flour
1/4 cup Wheat herm
1/2 cup Oatmeal
2 tbsp Molasses
1/2 cup Sunflower meal
3/4 cup Water

1. Blend oat bran flour, whole-wheat flour, wheat germ and oatmeal together.
2. Mix in molasses, sunflower meal and water. Blend well.
3. Place on floured counter and roll out, about 1/2 inch/ 1 cm thick. Cut out shapes with desired cookie cutter.
4. Bake at Gas 5 for 30 minutes, or until cookies are crisp.
