Low Calorie Cookies

These biscuits are packed with great flavour but not loaded with calories. Give them as a special treats for the dieting dog or the all famous couch potato dog. They give wholesome goodness and great taste of natural flours.

Carrot Cookies
Carrot are rich in beta-carotene, which converts in the body to vitamin A and boots the immune system. These biscuits offer a sweet treat without many added calories.

2 cups Whole-wheat flour
1/2 cup Oatmeal
1 Egg
1/2 cup Cornmeal
1/2 cup Water
1/3 cup Vegetable Oil
1/2 cup Carrot (grated fine)

1. Combine all ingredients to form a stiff dough.
2. Place on floured counter and roll out, about 1/2 inch/ 1 cm thick. Cut out shapes with desired cookie cutter.
3. Bake at Gas 2 for 30 minutes, or until cookies are crisp.


Low Fat Chic-Bean Cookies
The flavour of chicken and green beans will make these low calori cookies a favourite with your dog. High in fiber and with vitamin A and C, they are healthy too.

3 1/2 cups Whole-wheat flour
1 cup Cornmeal
1/4 cup Skim milk
3/4 cup Chicken stock
1/2 cup Green Bean (puree)

1. Blend what flour and cornmeal together. Set aside.
2. Whisk together milk, stock and green bean puree.
3. Slowly add flour mixture to bean mixture until a stiff dough is formed.
4. Place on floured counter and roll out, about 1/2 inch/ 1 cm thick. Cut out shapes with desired cookie cutter.
5. Bake at Gas 4 for 35 minutes, or until cookies are crisp.
